The atmosphere was casual with great energy. The food was delicious! I'm only disappointed that several of the tasty looking options were sold out. I had the potato pie and a pecan sandy with a berry lemonade. The servers were efficient and thorough. I'll certainly go back!

Went to De Fer on Saturday at 2 PM since it’s one of the few coffee shops open until 9 PM. Located in the heart of the Strip District, right in front of the new Terminal, it has a unique and spacious layout. Parking can be tricky depending on how busy it is. Their lattes were perfectly sweet, and the everything bagel was a great snack! The vibe was ideal for both working (good internet) and catching up with a friend. I also loved browsing their local goods—coffee, wine, cheese, meats, and beautiful artwork!

I love De Fer! Such a Pittsburgh staple. I go right after rowing practice, always ordering a matcha. I ordered a custom one this time - Apricot Honey Matcha. The food is awesome too! The service is great, employees are so nice and welcoming. We usually get there around 7:15 and its pretty quiet, but closer to 8 it starts to fill up pretty quickly. Street parking is free until 8 am and there's plenty of spaces until about 9. I highly recommend! It's pretty quiet so great if you'd like a quiet place to work!

A very cozy cafe, and I can confidently say there aren’t many like it in Pittsburgh. The atmosphere is lovely, the music is great, the staff is friendly, and the drinks are delicious. However, one thing slightly detracts from the overall impression: the ceiling is noticeably stained in some areas. At first, I thought it was part of the design, but it turns out it’s not. Please take care of it — and your cafe will truly have no equal!

It was my first time trying out De Fer’s coffee and I’ll be honest, it was the best decaf latte I’ve ever had in my life. Delicious — although I’ve had better cookies elsewhere. I think if the latte I had was THAT good, I’m pretty sure their other coffee beans are phenomenal. My sister had the matcha latte and she also said it was superior compared to the other cafes we’ve visited so far. This definitely makes it on my top 3 cafes out here. We’ll definitely be back.

Made a review before about this place but I couldn’t stop from making another one. One of the best coffee spots in the Strip of Pittsburgh. Highly recommended. Coffee. Beer. Mimosas. Books.

Loved the atmosphere and the chocolate chip cookies . I couldn't get the name of the staff but she was super nice! The choco chip cookies were not on display and she checked them for me at the back. They were soft and really good! I wonder how they'd taste when they were freshly baked. Definitely try the choco chip cookies!
